Team

We are a team of founders and operators turned investors.

Ari Stiegler
Managing Partner

Ari Stiegler

Ari is a three-time founder and CEO with a track record of building, scaling, and exiting technology companies. He was Founding CEO of TutorMe (acquired by Zovio for $10M, then by GoGuardian for $55M) and Founding CEO of Prism and WorkHQ ($26M raised). Before launching Flux Capital, he oversaw the North American portfolio of a multi-billion dollar family office, deploying $150M across asset classes.

Ari founded Flux Capital on the belief that the next 30 years will be the most consequential in human history — and that the biggest returns come from backing exceptional founders before the rest of the market catches on. He leads with conviction over consensus, often writing the first check into a company and building deep partnerships with founders from day one. That operator instinct — knowing what it takes to build from zero — shapes every investment Flux Capital makes.

Mike Loretz
General Partner

Mike Loretz

Prior to Flux Capital, Mike founded Inertia Ventures and Tides Ventures, deploying $40M+ into early-stage technology companies. His venture career is built on a foundation in real-world asset development — he previously served as Director of Development at Fenix Development, a family office real estate development company managing $500M in asset value.

That combination of venture investing and large-scale capital deployment gives Mike a differentiated perspective on hard tech and capital-intensive businesses. At Flux Capital, he plays a central role in deal origination, diligence, and portfolio management, bringing deep expertise in financial strategy and startup operations to every investment the firm makes.

Shao Yi Qian
Principal

Shao Yi Qian

Shao Yi brings institutional finance rigor to Flux Capital. He previously led wealth investment operations and new business support for Wilmington Trust's West Coast office, managing a $1B+ client book as part of a 3 person investment management team. Before that, he headed lending operations and credit underwriting for Prism, a private credit fintech startup, and served as Product and Operations Lead at WorkHQ.

At Flux Capital, Shao Yi oversees due diligence, fund operations, financial reporting, and portfolio analytics, ensuring institutional-grade infrastructure behind the firm's investment activity. His background spanning institutional asset management, fintech lending, and product operations gives him a unique ability to bridge the gap between investment strategy and operational execution.
